A great little mountain town worth every bit of the trip
Nelson is genuinely one of those places that just sticks with you. Baker Street has this cool mix of local shops and cafes that felt so easy to explore. The mountains all around make everything look stunning.
Whitewater ski area is absolutely worth the drive
The skiing at Whitewater was brilliant - deep powder and not too crowded compared to bigger resorts. The town itself is super walkable after a day on the slopes. Cozy spots to eat and really friendly locals everywhere you go.
Perfect winter getaway with real small-town feel
Loved the pace of Nelson in winter. Whitewater had some of the best snow I've seen in years and the runs suited all levels. Downtown never felt rushed or overcrowded and the food options on Baker Street were solid and affordable.
Beautiful town with gorgeous scenery all around
The views over Kootenay Lake are just stunning - one of those things you have to see to believe. Nelson has a really relaxed feel to it and the heritage buildings downtown give it real character. Great food scene too for a town this size.
Lakeside summer trip done right
Spent time around Lakeside Park and it was just lovely. Swimming in Kootenay Lake, hanging out in the sun, good local ice cream nearby. Nelson has this easy-going feel that made the whole trip feel relaxed from day one.
Charming heritage town with loads to explore
The heritage architecture along Baker Street is really well preserved and makes walking around genuinely enjoyable. Local restaurants were great - tried some amazing locally sourced food. Nelson punches way above its weight for a small city.
